Are enterprise apps becoming just an Agent in the future?

Have you wondered if we’re going to a future where our beloved,
B2B platforms serve less as “apps” for people, and more as intermediaries agents that communicate with other agents? ....with humans barely involved?

Lately, this idea feels less like science fiction and more like an emerging norm in the world of enterprise technology.
AI agents capable of:
perceive,
evaluate,
act
without regular human prompting. This is transforming the “user” concept: agents might soon be communicating primarily with each other, not with people!
What Does This Mean?
It sounds wild, and IDC is saying in their blog post that over 80% of enterprises believe “AI agents are the new enterprise apps."
The human’s role: Becomes strategic and supervisory, not operational.
Software vendors: Pressure to compete with “agents as apps,” not just apps with AI features.
My feeling is that UIs are fading, and prompt-based, or preferably voice-based, interactions become the new standard.
